Dustin’s Background

Dustin Sikora was raised on the west coast of British Columbia. He played junior hockey and has often said that if he had grown up in the South Okanagan, he would have proudly worn the Coyotes jersey. That lifelong love of the game and of community still runs deep.

Dustin volunteered as a Big Brother, Reserve Constable with Delta Police and as a Crisis Hotline Operator, supporting people of all ages and walks of life and those in distress when they needed someone steady and present. After studying psychology and political science at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, he answered a further call to service. He spent years as a Military Police member in the Canadian Armed Forces. He then completed the rigorous selection process that works out large numbers of applicant soldiers down to only a select few and then trained as an elite unit Close Protection Operator (bodyguard) —learning to protect others under pressure and to operate with precision, integrity, and calm when it mattered most and while others succumb to panic.

Those same values of duty, reliability, and practical problem-solving carried into business. Dustin built and still owns The Range Langley, Canada’s largest indoor shooting range. Today the facility trains officers from 31 police agencies who depend on it for essential qualifications and ongoing training. In doing so, he demonstrated what a private-sector solution can deliver when government systems fall short: consistent quality, accountability, and results. He later became a member of the Vancouver chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, surrounding himself with approximately 200 of Vancouver’s top entrepreneurs and incredibly talented and successful business people who build lasting enterprises rather than chase short-term gains. Drawing on years of hands-on experience in the shooting industry, out-of-the-box thinking and a persistence to find a better way, Dustin invented and patented a buoyancy separation system / liquid computer (US 20240181468A1) that cleans and remediates valuable metals from shooting ranges. The technology addresses a real environmental and operational challenge and is on the cusp of transforming how shooting ranges across North America manage HAZMAT lead mitigation and safety. The scale, value and importance of this cutting-edge invention for the industry cannot be overstated.

Dustin and his wife chose Osoyoos as the place to semi-retire and raise their two daughters and Dustin’s mother and his wife Britta’s parents also live full-time in town. They invested heavily in the Osoyoos Wildlife Federation and with help of volunteer club members have turned this organization around for the better. They support many local charities and are double property tax payers — giving them a direct stake in how tax dollars are managed. For the past four years Dustin has been actively fighting waste, fraud, and abuse at Town Hall, insisting on transparency and accountability for the people who actually live here and pay the bills.

He holds a deep and abiding concern for the future of Osoyoos and for the future his own children will inherit here. He wants his kids, your kids, and everyone’s grandkids to grow up with access to safe, healthy drinking water. The Town of Osoyoos makes up more than a $3 Billion valued real estate and asset portfolio that now desperately requires sophisticated, financially savvy leadership. He has no tolerance for corruption in public office, special interest groups that raid the public purse and leaders that choose to serve themselves before the community. The wrong people in power derail meaningful progress on failing infrastructure projects and he remains resolute in opposing the misuse of public trust. Because of these past issues, he believes now is the time for a clean sweep of leaders at Town Hall and to bring in new people that will honour their oath to public service and fulfill their duty of providing residents with clean and safe drinking water. Dustin’s primary focus is bringing crystal-clean, ancient aquifer mountain spring water directly to the taps of Osoyoos, and nothing will stop him on this path.

He maintains strong, respectful working relationships with MLA Donegal Wilson and MP Helena Konanz—relationships built on a shared commitment to the South Okanagan and a willingness to advocate for practical outcomes. Dustin brings to Osoyoos a record of service, of building things that work, of protecting the vulnerable, and of refusing to look the other way when public money is misused. Sacrifice, persistence, creativity and integrity are key strengths for Dustin in his daily and long term way of thinking. For seniors who value reliability, clean water, fiscal common sense, and leaders who show up and take responsibility, that record matters and Dustin offers this in abundance.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing recreational hockey, golf, jiu-jitsu, shooting sports and water skiing.
